Rock the Vote, Rock the T-Shirts
By Mark | October 14, 2008
With the upcoming presidential election just weeks away, things are getting especially heated on the campaign front. McCain and Obama supporters alike are pulling out all the stops when it comes to promotional t-shirts. Here are some of the most notable campaign t-shirts I’ve seen recently:
While the official McCain/Palin campaign seems to be forgoing humorous designs in favor of more simple, traditional t-shirts, the folks over at The Republican Shop blog have recently created a series of eye-catching shirts to endorse the GOP candidate. My favorite is this baby blue shirt which reads “I’m Not Bitter,” a response to Obama’s controversial statements that some small towns Americans “cling to guns or religion” because they’re “bitter.” I like the simplicity of the text and eye-catching color in this design.
Pro-Obama t-shirts seem to be everywhere. It seems like everyone from Juicy Couture to my next door neighbor is creating their own Obama/Biden design. This t-shirt from the official Obama/Biden campaign takes a more subtle promotional approach. The red, white and blue design spells “Hope” in bold, block letters and includes the URL to the campaign website. I find the clean design and inspiring message an effective campaign tool and a refreshing change from the thousands of political t-shirts sporting Obama’s portrait.
No matter who you choose to vote for this November, promotional t-shirts can help you express your opinion in a fun and unique way.
